“ And I think it’s so great how women can claim ownership of their bodies and not let the world do it.” 🙄

It's basically the standard answer every pop girl gives when asked about being objectified, I hate it.

It 100% is.
I remember Christina Aguilera giving a very similar response about 'being the one in control' when talking about her Dirrty music video back in the day.

Yeah I'm sure Britney said something similar. It's always 'being in control', 'being empowered', 'owning your own sexuality' etc

I mean, if you watch the video the whole song is a siren song to lure men to their deaths. So the skin showing is part of that.

I didn’t know it was a siren song! It does make sense, the rapacious allayer is a fun point of inspiration. People should bring this energy to all the male artists who normalized make gaze aesthetics, but they don’t.

It means I wrote bad poetry in high school and this was literally a little line I wrote in a poem about sirens. All poems were about death, of course. 😹😹😹

The song has been on repeat it’s so fucking good. The confidence and talent she has is no joke. I’m ready for a full solo album

The song is a fucking bop. I understand the criticism and I was definitely a bit uncomfortable with the skin show. But I think it fit in with the concept of the music video?

I only watched her video once and have been listening to the audio only on Spotify 🤷🏻‍♀️

The pearl clutching surrounding this girl 📿🛐📿 I swear ever since the Ungodly Hour people have been truly on Chloe's neck. When you watch their YouTube videos, she's always been extra lol No doubt she may express some regret later in life, but she's still young and she's exploring her body and sexuality, so if that's how she wants to present herself let her be.

Yeah, this criticism is from either super casual fans or people who are projecting , like with that Billie Eilish Vogue cover . I lived through Madonna, Christina, Rihanna, GaGa and Nypd Blue. Bare behinds do not faze me. It was only 3 short shots of a 3 minute video anyway. There is a discourse to be had, but also remember who you were into at ages 12-24, which is Chloe's target audience. This was no where near "Wap" standards and everyone defended that video when conservative pundits were saying the same things that critics are saying about her.

Chöle was never conservative in her adult years.
