Daily Mail though? Yes there's a good chance it won't get a release in China but last I knew, there's also still a chance that it will, even if for a short window of time. As the article mentions, Kevin Feige talked to a critic there to counter misconceptions about how the movie relates to the comic's racist history. Now Eternals though, it'd be a surprise if that one got a release in China.

Chloe Zhao is persona non grata in China. Nomadland got banned there last year.

No comment about that Shang Chi ban as I don’t have an idea about that. But most of those other bans are just fragile men on power trips. Ignorance and greed really are a disease.

Also banning children from playing video games past curfew. As if that’s going to solve their problems. If not, this is going to make it even worse. Tell me you’re a dictatorial country without telling me you’re a dictatorial country.

I blame Winnie the Pooh

Limiting playing hours on video gams is good and South Korea already made a similar ban earlier. If anything, that's mild because they should outright restrict the lootbox and subscription business model of video games there because it incentivises children and teenagers to spend money on useless shit.

They won't ever ban lootboxes, gacha games, and predatory game modes. A lot of Chinese gaming companies are making billions out of this not just non-Chinese games. I don't know if their government will cave in to them or not if they'll ever do that. Money and hypocrisy talk.

But they should because some of the things they do on app games are just downright scummy (for some companies). I am an app game player and I have first-hand experience what these companies can do to make you spend.

I don't care about Shang Chi (except for my bb Tony Leung) or Marvel in particular, but Winnie the Pooh can go fuck himself.

And what’s hilarious about that is that they’re complaining about a birth decline and blaming it on ‘girly looking men’ when in reality part of the reason no one wants kids is the whole work first mentality they’ve been taught.
