Nicola's post in particular made me tear up. I know she and Cheryl and Kim were very insular with each other but it's still clear that they all cared deeply about Sarah. I hope her mom is okay, I can't imagine being a single parent and losing your only child. Just completely devastating.
Also, Sarah's obituary in the Guardian mentions a 2022 reunion tour that all five of them had signed on for, which is news to me. Did any of y'all know about this? I wonder if they'll still try to do it. I'm torn because I regret that I never got to see them live and I'd really love to, but it wouldn't be the same without Sarah.
I definitely remember hearing rumors, but I don't think anything was confirmed until now. I can't imagine they'd be able to tour so soon without her. Most I could see is a tribute performance.
This is so horribly sad. But what a legacy - Girls Aloud's music (not just the singles) still doesn't sound like anything else. And everyone seemed to adore her
the girls aloud catalogue opens with sarah singing “disco dancing with the lights down low” and ends with her singing “i still think about you every now and then” to fade - G (@oneofthosefaces) September 5, 2021
jfc nooo I just fell into the "click LOL reaction instead of sad" trap for the first time so I hope that your notification feed refreshed it when I switched it over, but just in case it doesn't that's what's up with that.
so heartbreaking, my heart goes out to all of them. i’m pleased they got to spend time with each other and put aside their differences to be with sarah the past year
the radio just started playing sound of the underground 💕 i remember buying the single as a kid to make sure they got to number one and beat the boys
Lord, it must've been so infuriating to be in OTV. They were all good vocalists, but they got given shitty middle of the road crap and a Westlife-lite image while GA got given edge and great pop
