Kanye West’s Donda Album Debuts at No 1. on the Billboard 200

Kanye West lands his 10th No. 1 on the Billboard 200 albums chart, as Donda debuts atop the list with the year’s biggest week for any album. Earning 309,000 equivalent album units in the U.S. with 37,000 pure sales.

It’s not bad. Way better than Ye and Jesus is King. If you like TLOP then Donna is in the same vein.

The pure sales are much lower than I thought so I’m actually happy about that. I figured with all the controversy around it and him pissing so many people off, it’s not surprising people were going to listen just see what it would be. But folks aren’t really buying it from the pure numbers side so I’m sure the 2nd week will be a big drop.

he didn't sell vinyl or limited edition signed CDs like halsey did, though. it was such a last minute drop he didn't have merch ready to go but if he did, i believe his stans would have bought tons of it unfortunately. her pure sales came from people buying the various CDs and vinyls (IE, the imax version, the live version, the target version, ETC) that they'd been promoting for pre-order etc pretty heavy for weeks.
