I watched the whole thing. I'll say this, while her voice grates my nerves, she's very smart about her career and what she wants and I have much respect for making this swerve and making this record.

gaaaah, I so badly wanted to like this album bc I love nin but her vocals are very underwhelming and generic? am I missing something? has anyone warmed up to it after a few listens, because I want to be on board 😩

currently, I think I’m in the camp where if nin produces a song, I need some killer vocals to compete. karen o is a goddess and I loooooooove their zeppelin cover.

i thought it was just me! i wanted to love it sooooo bad too, but ia i def. feel like the songs need a better vocalist imo. the only one i still remember that i'll probably replay is i am not a woman, i am a god.

i also feel like the production lagged in places where it did feel like a movie soundtrack somewhat. i looove nin and trent, so i just thought i missed something????

This Trent/Atticus Ross is less harsh sometimes, more piano-y, missing the industrial edge that was still present on softer NIN.

the only one i've been replaying has been "honey" :(

i liked several of the other songs, too, but i'm not eager to listen to them again.

I really enjoyed this album. I didn't care too much for Manic and was disappointed when Nightmare wasn't included because I thought that song would be more indicative of what Manic would be like and I was just so underwhelmed by that album. Her past albums I thought were just okay but nothing really special imo. But I really enjoyed this album and the lyrics are really really hard to ignore, but in a good way, if that makes sense?

Is it a flop? They had people going to see the short film (myself included) in a panini. Just because Kanye blocked them, doesn't mean that it's not a good/definitive album for them.

stan culture has created a rly weird definition of flop bc there’s no way these two are in that category.

Exactly. This album might not have been a game changer but it’s far from a flop.

The Tradition, Bells in Santa Fe, and Easier than Lying are my absolute favorites. I like Lilith, Whispers, and The Lighthouse. Everything else I'm kinda meh on.
