James McAvoy was given no script for his latest thriller ‘MY SON’, instead he improvises and reacts to the story in real time, alongside the audicence. And I´m sure it'll be a hot mess.

Right, what if someone messes up, do they do a reshoot, what about doing a scene with different camera angles? Also what would they've done if James had been a total dum dum and not figured out what is going on with his son (or whatever mystery/twist this movie wants to tell)?
I wonder if they were able to do multiple takes? IDK, I feel like gimmicks (for lack of a better term) like this can often be quite fun, but I can't stop myself from rolling my eyes a bit with how it's touted as this "huge groundbreaking achievement." I feel bad about it, but even when it probably is an achievement and I actually like the film (1917 was a recent-ish example), I still kind of roll my eyes at how much they try to hype up the gimmick.
How very 1996 Mike Leigh classic Secrets and Lies. Which everyone should watch if they're wondering how a film without a script can be made. Absolute tour de force performances from Brenda Blethyn and Marianne Jean-Baptiste.
Leigh did the same (or something similar) for Vera Drake, which is also amazing, though he has the actors work/spend time together for like months and months ahead of time to develop a rapport, so that's gotta help.
omg comment twins <3 I think about Secrets & Lies so often. That scene where Brenda Blethyn meets Marianne Jean Baptiste……goosebumps just thinking about it.

Also the no script thing sounds ridiculous, so everything is first take or what? Sounds like a winning concept.

Yeah I came to say this, like... this is not new, Mike Leigh has been doing this for decades. Secrets and Lies is so fucking good, too.
