I watched that behind the scenes video whenever Dulé posted it and the EJ crying at the end was so sweet omg. He's so proud of it. Also I think they're planning for Don to be seen in a later season because he does remind me of him even in the way he talks.

Also, excited for Saladin to write for Dulé again! He cowrote the Blackapella episodes of Psych with James which I still think about all the time lol.

Ugh the Blackapella episodes of that show are SO GOOD. Dulé finally got to show his acting chops. His line delivery of "you betrayed me. The both of you. Got your minds mixed up in nonsense and it broke my heart!" instantly makes me tear up.

I'm glad he is finally getting a broader audience because he was incredible on both Psych and Ballers.

I binged Black Monday and he was in season 2! He was so funny when they let him be messy on that show. I was not used to hearing "fuck" come out of his mouth so much lmao.

The Wonder Years was an important and memorable show for me as a kid. I might have even had a crush on Winnie.

I truly hope this isn't going to be too much in a "can't we just get along" way, but it'll be interesting to see and watch it from a young black boy perspective, his experiences, and with a black narrator.

I'm giving it a chance and rooting for it.

I know people get tired of seeing black stories in this time period, but I'm kinda excited for this TBH.

The combination of a black nerd without rhythm / a popular black girl / a strong black family with a successful/creative father figure completely in his element-particularly portrayed in this time period-feels fresh to me (as far as network TV shows go).

Racism aside, I hope we get a lot of character development, thoughtful storylines, and deep dives into other elements (like life in their neighborhood/friends and relatives/etc.)
