i watched the first two episodes and it seems like they're diverting from the book quite a bit, which i'm glad about tbh since the pacing of the book felt all off and i feel like i can still be surprised by stuff

it hasn't quite grabbed me yet though, but i'll keep watching

I feel like the show has all of the elements of a supernatural horror but is just going to wind up being about ~deep feelings and trauma instead.
