Mini armchair marketing rant: I don't understand what her team is doing. Normani's strength as an artist are her performances. And yet, a month later, we still haven't seen a single televised performance of the song that's supposed to launch her solo career!? Wth???
It's 99% certain she's going to perform at the VMAs, but that's going to be 2 full months after the single was first released, at which point it's pretty much time for the 2nd single.
The video was well made and looked like it cost a bunch, which leaves me puzzled as to WHY and HOW they can let the song just flop like this.
and there have been GREAT covid/at home performances by other artists, so she has no excuse imo. she keeps cancelling--if it's due to covid, then do a performance at home. if it's due to stage fright or something else, do a performance at home. I need her to make it make sense. she says in this clip she was practicing the choreo 3 weeks before cardi got involved...i'm sure she'd kill it.
I can’t get into this song or the video that goes along with it. The song had to go harder in order to warrant such a strong dance routine, imho. It’s like pop and locking to Enya for me. I don’t like it 😔

The music video and Cardi's name carried it. She should have released a banger to dance too.
