that wasn't even her horse, the horses for the Pentathlon come from somehwere and get randomly assigned to the rider like an hour before. like what the hell is that.

no good equestrian facility is gonna give their horses to unknowns riders, the origin of these horses has always been super iffy

It's so wild that they randomly get assigned a horse, have twenty minutes to bond with them enough to jump over hurdles and that is supposed to be okay?
There is no other sport where athlets would accept having to take a random boat/gun/pair of ski's/whatever sporting 'equipment' and be told to compete at peak performance - and these are actual things and not animals that need time and space to form connections.
The horse apparently also had been through the parkour with another rider that day, where the horse also denied jumps or failed them thus hurting itself but these fails were just one shy off the horse taken out of the random assignation.

it's bc the pentathlon is supposed to simulate ~battle readiness~ and one of the skills required is to be able to capture a random horse behind enemy lines

which makes sense but raises even more questions about the entire concept lol
