Everyone has their limits as to what they will or won't do on camera. I'm glad she had support on set. Too often, women in particular get pressured into doing things they aren't comfortable doing in front of the camera.

And yes, she's an actress, but you don't necessarily expect scenes like that if you sign up for a teen show.

100% - they've discussed this

it was supposed to be a feel-good, aw shucks type show with Whitey the basketball coach narrating to his dead wife, but then they saw they were up against The OC and producers felt they had to sex it up a lot

I can't imagine how awkward it must be to go from having no acting experience, to immediately doing intense sex/make out scenes. Heck, I imagine even experienced actors must feel awkward at times doing them.
