My favorite (horror) novel of all time is Last Days by Adam Nevill. I've recommended it to many an ONTD'er and they've all enjoyed it. It's v spooky and creepy.

I don't have a specific favorite novel per say but there are many novels I hold more dear than others.

As one of those you've recommended it to, I second this! Great book.

Whenever I see Salman Rushdie, I think of this glorious scene

One of my all time favorite books is The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy! It's one of my pick me up books and always gets me out of a reading funk!

I have unintentionally become a nerd of this series by reading it, watching the film and BBC series, and listening to the radio show.

By Sarah Addison Allen? I read a bunch of her books about 8-9 years ago. They were cute feel-good reads.

i don't think i could ever consider a book to be the BEST i've read - bc they all mean such different things for different reasons and at different times i read them

I totally agree about when you read books. A few years ago I reread “The Diary of a Young Girl” by Anne Frank, which I read as summer reading for eighth grade. I was pretty knowledgeable about the history behind it when I was reading it for school, but after learning so much more in high school and then as a history major in college, and just growing into an adult in general, it was so much pre devastating.

Also, we were supposed to read “Emma” in high school, and I couldn’t get into it. It was the first thing I ever used Spark Notes for. But when I’ve read other Austen as an adult? I’ve enjoyed it. One day I’ll get back to “Emma.”

And the first time I read “To Kill a Mockingbird” as an adult it hit me very different emotionally than the multiple times I read it as a kid/teenager.

This. There are very few five star books I've read and some books that aren't five star but still favorites, but it's impossible to say I like one more than the other at any given time.
