Fuck this. Why give murderers the attention and linger over the graphic details of horrific crimes for entertainment?

For real. Like it's one thing if it's a cold case and putting information out there helps solve it and bring justice and closure to the victim and their family & friends but shit like this completely rubs me the wrong way.

Absolutely. According to Wikipedia seven of Nilsen's victims remain unidentified so I would hope at least this platform is used to raise awareness of these unidentified people.

Yeah, this feels kind of like giving the bastard what he wanted to me. He wanted people to be fascinated by him and what he did

Nilsen is so interesting to me, psychologically. I remember he let one of his victims go and I always wonder about his thought process there. Plus his backstory is just... fucked up.

yall ever listen to the podcast crime junkie? i listened to two episodes and they didn't really have an "end result" or like solved or whatever, they just ended the podcast with a most recent update...which i found kinda odd

never listened to any crime/murder podcast before except when i got curious and listened to 'my favorite murder' years ago and i had to turn that shit off

the crime podcasts i've gotten the most out of were all productions from news/media companies doing actual research, securing interviews etc. all the crime podcasts/youtube videos that consist of people basically reading wikipedia/random online articles while making jokes or doing makeup are very weird and unnecessary to me

The only ones I like are ones that just tell the story, facts only, no personal opinions or jokes. So I only listen to Casefile now because almost everything else turns my stomach in their delivery.

i have listened to them, but the way they ass kiss the police pisses me off so i usually avoid them

i don't understand how anyone who consumes a lot of true crime media could ever come to any conclusion other than "the police are terrible at their jobs"

I watched I'll Be Gone in the Dark for Michelle McNamara's story and I haaaaaated hearing the killer's voice on tape and I don't want to hear this man's voice either. The psychology is the only thing I'm interested in. I don't want to give them any attention or notoriety.
