what i watched this past week:

zola - pretty decent with good performances. the twitter thread was way more a thrill ride.

luca - cute but based on the reception i was expecting something on the level of soul, which this was not.

fear street 1994 & 1978 - lmao the mediocrity. and why the fuck were these two so violent?? i thought this shit was geared towards teens? ill get around to the finale eventually.

bo burnham's inside - incredible. bo has want john mulaney will never get.

fear street didnt seen more violent than any teen slasher released these days. they love OTT violence and gore.

I saw the first part of Batman The Long Halloween. I'm not familiar with that particular storyline tho, that's more bc I don't read comics, bc apparently it's one of the more well known ones.

Why did they release it in two parts anyway, IDT other DCAU films have done that.

How did you like it?

I like the comic but I feel like the DC animated films have been declining in quality.

I think the concept is great but it took 1.5 hours to not do much. If it was a cool hour and a bit tighter, I'd probably like it more. Also I wanted more Catwoman (RIP Naya), but maybe in part 2, it feels like she's there just bc they needed a female villain to show up.

Saw Snake Eyes and enjoyed it. The action scenes could have been better, only a couple parts really stood out. Henry is very charming but Andrew was a standout. Needed more Iko. And grandma fighting.

Been watching MASH all weekend. Took a break and watched Triple Threat on Netflix. Not great lol but good enough for a random action film at 10pm.

is your icon iko from this movie? he's the only thing that is making me want to see it!

Not from Snake Eyes no, sorry. It's from The Night Comes for Us. As much as I like Snake Eyes Iko isn't in it enough if he's your only reason lol

aaah, the Night Comes for Us is also on my watchlist, so will definitely get my Iko dosage through that!

I can't believe people are still willing to pay for an M Night Shyamalan movie

Because I want to see the twist. And unlike everyone else, I go in with the mindset for "This is gonna be some crazy ass shit" and guess what? Every movie has jumped into that level and it's fucking awesome for me. "The Happening"? Best campy movie that I've seen in theatres.

"You're gonna kill me."
"What? Nooooo."
The stupid ass, I know the plants are killing us but I'm gonna go walking through it with a kid. Just beautiful.

Also seeing how hard The Rock and the studio worked to convince Emily Blunt to be in Jungle Cruise, I kind of want to see it...thank goodness it's on Pirate - I mean Premiere Access on Friday.
