Halle Bailey, who will be playing Ariel in Disney's live action remake of The Little Mermaid, posted about filming being done and how surreal it feels. The film will also star Javier Bardem, Melissa McCarthy, Jacob Tremblay, Daveed Diggs, and Awkafina.

ETA - Also-also: they did a pretty fantastic job of containing costume leaks. aside from the burlap and pink dresses (and even then, those were via vv blurry paparazzi shots) we haven't seen a damn thing.

Disney has fucked up all of these live-action movies. When I was a child, I LOVED Disney animations. It's all I would watch. There was opportunity there to appeal to that nostalgic part for adults but everything I've seen is just so, so bad. I'm not even interested in them anymore.

It feels like they just started filming… but ngl this is the one Disney project I’m excited for, I loved the little mermaid as a kid and i really love they have Halle for her.
