I guess ugly hot is that they are at first sight not that good-looking but the more the look....you may find something attractive to you.

Hot-Ugly seems to be the reverse, you see something attractive first, but the longer you look you may find something that may cause you to change your mind. But not ugly enough to completely reject either.
