I love the Hannibal books and have been doing a re-read over the past week. I just need someone to get the act together and get all the rights to these characters in one place for a proper adaptation. I loved the show Hannibal and I get they didn't have the rights to Clarice's character, but I'll never forgive them for giving her plot/lines to Will. Having a strong female character's story given to a man just felt gross.

I liked the show, but at the same time I got fed up with Hannibal + Will's relationship. Anna Chlumsky's almost-Clarice was interesting.

Do you know why he couldn’t get the Clarice character? Was it too expensive or did CBS already have the rights to her specifically?
