N.K. Jemisin's The Broken Earth trilogy is being adapted by Sony's TriStar Pictures, with the author herself adapting the books to screen. This comes only three months after the news that Jemisin's The Inheritance trilogy is being adapted for

I just finished listening to these audiobooks!!!! (Side note but the narrator, Robin Miles is phenomenal!) Genuinely an amazing series, and like you said, OP, unlike anything I've ever read. I feel like the fact that N.K. Jemisin is adapting them is a good sign though?? Prayer circling etc etc.

Oh cool, I got my flatmate to buy the first book (so that I can borrow it to read it myselfxD), gotta get to it then once she is done.
Have to say though the German publishers did a horrible job with the cover for the first book, the other two are alright, but the missmatch because they are not cohesive drove me mad when I got them for the store.

Same. A friend of mine gifted me the first book of the Panem trilogy but the editions of 2 and 3 I got are very different, but I can't just replace the one she got me because she wrote me a cute little message on the first page and everythingXD

I got about 5 pages into book 1 and then got distracted, so this is giving me a push to start over! I am desperate for some good reading material rn. (I have to say though, I also got halfway through The City We Became and didn’t love it but willing to give that another try too.)

The City We Became is very different than this trilogy, so I wouldn't say feeling one way about that is an indicator for the Broken Earth trilogy, at least.

It's worth it.

I was "meh" about the first chapter / kindle sample. Got back to it some time later, read more and absolutely loved it!
