When everyone was making money off his acting out, his addiction and shitty behavior off-screen was tolerated, even celebrated. Now, it's a problem. Same thing happened with Steve-O.

I was about to say that when I was in college there was a lot of behaviors associated with drinking that were celebrated and seen as funny that in retrospect were concerning so I kind of see how that happens. But I checked and Johnny and Steve were in their early 30s when they got famous with Jackass which is surprising to me.

Yeah I dated a guy who was obsessed with these guys and hung out with them a few times and he mentioned heroin use and just that he was really messed up and this was over over ten years ago really sad.
