At the end of this week's episode, Rachel Bilson and Melinda Clarke mentioned E!'s recent interview with Mischa Barton. They said they were addressing it so that Mischa can come on the podcast and share her story

Then Rachel says, "Mischa got to make out with Ben McKenzie and meet Rooney!" as if that made it all better.

It starts around 1:14:00. Melinda says she loved going to work, and Rachel says in this episode, she makes out with Ben/meets Rooney. As if it's all in a fun day at work.

ya, the dude (idk who he is lmao) mentions the interview and how she said men were mean to him and he thinks she's talking about cast members and rachel says she's really surprised bc she didn't witness anything, melinda agrees and mentions she loved going to work bc it was like musical theatre camp and rachel says:
"i mean c'mon clearly she was having fun, i mean this episode she was just making out with ben mckenzie what could be so wrong... and listening to rooney!"

and then they said something about mixed signals 🙄

Rachel was confused by the claims and did not witness any bullying. Neither did Melinda.

I have no idea and I cannot bring myself to google the Mischa interview but there is nothing in the world I hate more than when someone claims abuse or bullying and other people chime in like "well I did not see it happening" "x person did nothing to me"

Thanks! Now I'm even more confused. Like she did not blame Rachel or anything, what I understood talks about her exit started after they made Summer a series regular not because they replaced her, but because she was never happy to begin with and wanted to leave (?)

I didn't listen to the full E! interview but I do know in this podcast, on one of the earlier episodes, they claimed producers wanted to shake things up, they didn't know if they'd get a season 4, etc. At the time in 2007, they claimed they shot multiple endings with different characters dying and "no one knew" who'd actually die. But it seems like that's false now.
