Court Dismisses Anti-Trans Assault Lawsuit Against Rosario Dawson

That these false claims came from someone we’ve known as chosen family for decades and who we were trying so hard to help out, as we have many times in the past, was very heartbreaking. Nevertheless, we have great empathy for him and have only ever wished him well.

I mean, I GUESS??

I still feel very funky/funny about this whole ordeal in a way that still has me unsure. like, is it possible he lied? yes. But is it possible he didn't and the whole thing lies somewhere in the middle? also yes.

It's hard to say if this is true or if Rosario and her family just had more money and resources. I do think it's for the best that Dedrek Finley is no longer associating with them and I hope he's got a good support system around him because I worry her stans are going to be gross about this.

The fact that his attorney withdrew himself from the case makes me feel like Rosario could be telling the truth. Either way, I hope Dedrek is doing ok.

Yeah, that seemed like a big hint that there wasn't much to the case. Finley ghosting the court when asked to provide any evidence suggests the same.

Maybe. But what proof are you supposed to have that someone yelled transphobic abuse?

Generally, the court only asks for more proof when you have already made claims that proof exists and you have it.

Like if you said I have pictures that show something or I have text messages saying whatever. The court is going to expect you to be able to produce that. If it’s just one persons word over another’s (or even a bunch of people) the court should let that go to a jury to determine who they find more believable.

People were so willing to jump on Rosario and not let anyone forget about her new anti-trans reputation. Let's hope this evidence and decision puts that to rest now. I would be LIVID if someone tried to paint me in that light, honestly defamation-levels of pissed.

Yeah I sometimes have issues with people jumping quickly to conclusions and condemning right away.

I mean for it could be that Rosario is telling the truth or lying. We don’t always know.

That said if I were ever accused of something heinous and it’s clearly not true, you bet your butt I’m taking them downtown!

The fact that she didn’t just throw some money at them to make it go away also makes me feel like she’s telling the truth.
