"We were lucky we got to have an audience," exec producer/director Kevin Bright says. "The show is good, that’s what we’re happy about. Ben Winston did a terrific job. But COVID ruined and put a damper on the warm and fuzzy part of this reunion" https://t.co/dAPkW5lfVC

Due to COVID protocols they had to make some changes to the reunion and werent able to really have an intimate sit down with the cast and thus the James Cordon giant outside waterfall interview was created.

how does this make sense? 'we couldnt have a close convo so we invited a bunch of people outside instead?" do they mean they meant to have the audience in close quarters? honestly, they should have just done the six talking with each other, with provided questions or have one of the producers/creators as the moderator. fucking James being unnecessary.

Im only part way through and its fine so far. i am SHOCKED that Heckles is still alive but also most shocked the character/actor was only in his 50s as Heckles.

it also seems like a lie because there was always going to be a live audience. i remember them announcing it pre-covid.

It’s a total lie. This interview is solely a response to the bad reviews, it’s so obvious. “Well we were GOING to do this, but....Covid” So many excuses.

I’m not sure here?

The reviews are bad. But the reunion wasn’t made for reviewers. It was made for fans and it’s been overwhelmingly positive from most fans.

They delayed it as they wanted an audience. They did it outside due to COVID restrictions or I think they’d have had people in the studio. But that wasn’t possible.

I watched an hour of this show (Where uh one of the guys goes west for a movie role but ends up working at Caesar's Palace and Rachel won't take eye drops) and it was actually pretty funny. Not enough for me to go through 7? 9? 10? seasons of this, but funny enoug.

Haha, the Las Vegas storyline stands on its own and is legit ridiculous.

I enjoyed the reunion, honestly. I do wish we had more of the behind the scenes bits with the bloopers and table reads, but overall, I enjoyed watching it and seeing them all together again

This is where I’m at. The part with the bloopers and their reactions was a lot of fun. Some stuff was unnecessary (Corden, fashion show,) but overall, it was great watch for fans.

"Friends: The Reunion feels very true to my life in 2021, in that I wish James Corden weren’t in it. "
