i'm glad the creator is outright confirming that the flashforward is what it seems. i've seen way too many people bending logic to come up with some htgawm plot twisty reason for what the flash forward really means and like, that's not what this show is about. there's still some mystery to it, obviously, but they're not gonna do a huge ass misdirect like that and reveal she's renewing her vows all along or something dumb like that. kate's presence in the future (at rebecca's death bed) has been a mystery for seasons now, and we knew toby was alone and not wearing his wedding ring by then, so i don't know why people are shocked. i still think there's a chance that by that time, kate and her new man aren't together anymore, or that we'll find out in the far off future (their grown up kids timeline) that they got back together, possibly, but i hope not

The speculation of Kate being MIA I've heard was that she's dead D: so I'd prefer that it was that she just has a new guy, that's a whole lot less dark on that side during the final season about resolving. I don't know why others didn't foresee a divorce is more logical and goes better with the overall story arch.
It doesn't make sense (so far) that she's not there just 'cause she's with some new guy. Her mom is on her death bed. If anyone should be there it should be her, not Toby.
I think they just haven't gotten to showing that she's there but it could be so much stuff. This is why I'm honestly glad it's ending next season. I like it...but I'm tired and I want the resolutions tbh, I'm awful like that.
If this was a book, I'd have read the end chapter two years ago.
we're gonna need more flash-forwards and less flashbacks next year. there's so many glimpses of what's going on later and i'm sorry but i don't care about the past as much anymore. ik it's to keep milo around but i feel like a lot of what rebecca said in that chair at the end last night is true (and very sad but true): she can't place jack in their scenarios anymore, can't picture how he'd fit into what's happening to them. and i think the show needs to follow suit. they keep forcing this "this is what (usually kevin) is going through: let's take up a bunch of time to show you how jack also went through this." like? who cares? and i say this as someone who SOBBED when the post-superbowl/jack's death episode aired

Why is no one talking about how Uncle Nicky said "the wife needed pantyhose" while walking by in the flashforward?! I am sooooo rooting for him to have healed from his demons and found love!
Kate's new dress was gorgeous! I still wish the music teacher wouldn't have left A Million Little Things!
I caught that too! In one of the episodes (I think the one where they were all at the cabin) Nicky was googling the girl he was supposed to run away with (Sally? I think her name was) so perhaps he reconnects with her and they get married! That would be lovely for him.
I just watched last night and saw that part with Nicky. He seemed to have a better spirit along with the "the wife needed pantyhose" comment. So I'm really hoping that he's found peace and love. Have to watch even a fictional character I don't really like much dealing with Alzheimer's is too much for me, I need everyone else to end happily ever after. I NEED WARM FUZZIES DAMMIT.
