CM Punk is the ultimate troll but I find myself often agreeing with him.

Lots of crazy wrestler/politically adjacent drama going on lately it seems like, but I think the worst is political groups requesting Sami Zayn be punished by WWE over his Twitter/Palestinian support. He roasted Me-again McCain quite nicely too.

i love that sami has never held back on any of that stuff. also that he almost threw hands at a homophobic "fan" at a house show until security dragged him away from the guy lol (and then kicked the guy out)

It's a screenshot from the hockey movie "Slap Shot", in which Newman is a Player/Coach (noted by his name). Punk is a huge hockey fan.

Orange Cassidy is my guy. I've been watching wrestling since I was a child. I'm 38 now. A lot of other longtime watchers and puritans hate his gimmick, but I fuck with it. I wanna see it eventually metamorphize into something bigger, but right now, I'm along for the ride.

My PERSON in AEW is Britt Baker, though. I love everything about her. She's a fucking treat.

ALSO wanna see good things for Jungle Boy, Ricky Starks, Tay Conti, Anna Jay, and Sonny Kiss.

Lol we're the same age

I grew up watching WWE when it was still WWF with my brother. We went

We would order Japanese wrestling DVDs and various independent wrestling DVDs too. I remember thinking curry man was funny, and I like that Chris Daniels was one of AEW's first acquisitions

My brother would go to New York to see ecw live at the Hammerstein ballroom and once brought the fully painted souvenir chair home 😭

Did you ever watch WOW? We loved Riot. I still remember when someone in the crowd was holding up a sign that said ROIT, and it became an in-joke in our house for a while

I used to go to WCW shows in the 90s. Went to a couple house shows, 3 Nitros, and the Great American Bash a few times. During the NWO era. Me and my cousins would wait until the wrestlers would leave and try to see them. Once we got in trouble because we were pretty much ON TOP OF Paul Wight's car, but he was super cool.

I did watch WOW occasionally, but, I also watched GLOW every Friday/Saturday night as a kid.

I don’t know much about CM Punk but between this, calling out Chris Brown, and also calling out the WWE for making him perform with a concussion that resulted in him shitting his pants during Smackdown (or so John Oliver said on LWT), Punk seems like a cool dude.

he also called out the wwe a few years ago when they did a ~surprise lesbian plot twist for one of the worst storylines in recent memory (imo)
