Idk why it takes them forever to just say WE AINT PICKING IT UP. Instead of keeping fans in the wind.

I've noticed they've only picked up 2 Backdoor pilots in the last decade. The Originals and All American: Homecoming.

You are better off not having a backdoor pilot.

Aside from Dick Wolf shows, I do t think backdoor pilots work the way they used to? I know that's how a lot of sitcoms worked decades ago but in dramas they're inevitably my least favorite episodes. I think they rarely get the balance of introducing new characters in authentic ways and still prioritizing the main characters right.

That reminds me, I've been meaning to pick it up again. There was so much back-to-back high stakes doom and gloom that I just lost interest. I've been stuck in the middle of whatever season it was that they introduced the prison ship for--how long has been now? It is years??? LOL

I do wonder if the reason they spent so many episodes focusing on Khalil was due to them being confident about the spinoff? Because Khalil is cool but it is a damn shame they couldn't focus more on the family.

I'm sad that this is how Black Lightning ends but it seems that Jefferson finally puts an end to Tobias. Should have been a two hour finale since it seems a lot will happen within a short time?
