I never bothered watching the last season of Mad Men. The entire show was about nothing. It was incredibly boring. The writers didn't even know what to do about the main cast let alone a side mate.

"Maybe we'll do a generation gap focus...maybe we'll question race in advertising and culture...maybe we'll have someone killed by the Manson Family...maybe we'll...oh, fuck it, just get some really really cool costumes and sets and let's film whatever, the audience is trained now, they'll think we're being deep."

Phew, that sucks. I had a job once that told me whether they'd need me again as they handed me a paycheque so it was just this constant limbo where you can plan nothing further than a few days ahead because the job might not exist tomorrow. After six months I couldn't take the uncertainty anymore.

I never watched the last episode because I was annoyed her character got nothing but I kept watching when they introduced her character cause there was always a maybe hanging over her head and what if I missed it? I always like supporting Black actors by watching things in theaters (precovid) or as it airs.

She's a great actor and deserved so much more.

Jared Harris talked about his experience on Mad Men in a Guardian interview (why did I not know he was Richard Harris' son?!) saying: "But when I was hired, it was for one episode. They said, if he likes what you do, he’ll write you into more. So you’re constantly auditioning." So if that's how they treated a white male actor with huge connections, Parris' experience must have been miserable. https://www.theguardian.com/culture/2021/may/23/mad-man-to-bad-man-jared-harris-the-beast-must-die-the-crown-chernobyl-the-terror

It amazes me how Matthew Weiner was outed as a sexually harassing creep and no one cared

Well I guess it isn't really that amazing but you know
