I kinda like that we are seeing African styles on the red carpet - Viola Davis also wore something similar for an event. I still remember years ago wanting to have stuff made to take with me to uni and being told by another recent immigrant not to do because I would be made fun of.

I LOVE Zendaya's outfit so much. It's vintage YSL and belonged to Eunice Johnson, one of the founders of Ebony magazine. The quality and color of that satin is just to die for. (see second pic on the instagram post for a pic of Eunice wearing it. It's definitely a very early 80s look, but i think it's stunning.)
