Looking back, I'm so upset that Letter to Cleo didn't blow up. Their music was in so many teen movies and they were all bops.

Teenage me read that all three actresses actually learned how to play their respective instruments for Josie so I thought they all actually recorded the soundtrack. I couldn't understand why they wouldn't pursue this beyond the film and start a real band.

idk what i was reading, but it was some music insider talking about how letters to cleo was so close to blowing up but the whole female-fronted band thing took a big swerve towards gothic and evanescence blew up instead and LTC have held a grudge ever since lmao

That is so dumb! We had so many pop-punk skater-dude bands, there was room for LTC! If the studios pulled funding, no wonder LTC held a grudge. They were robbed!

i used to love this movie but i haven’t seen it in what feels like more than 2 decades now. this post has inspired me to rewatch it sometime this week lol, i’ll probably still love it

omg! i love that rosario got the role but aaliyah...

i love the whole soundtrack. i was so excited when this movie came out bc i was a huge archie comics fan and was ready to be on-trend.. unfortunately no one cared lol. i remember vividly that when this movie came out there was a section on the archie comics website apologizing for the "honk if you love pussy...cats" joke in the movie lol

I was a huge Archie comics nerd too! I remember in the comics (or maybe the website?) had a thing when the movie came out explaining why the movie was pg13. I guess since a lot of the readers wouldn’t be allowed to watch it. Also I definitely printed out soundtrack lyrics off archiecomics.com lol
