I feel like it might be a way of spreading out responsibilities-- like one is the visual effects specialist, one is the story specialist, one is the project manager? Idk

Yeah I'm confused too. I guess it's different for animated, but I can't picture three people who haven't directed together before having a unified vision. Maybe that's the point?

I'm excited! Esp for Joaquin, I want ATLA/LOK folks to do well.

Unpopular opinion but Soul wasn't my favorite. And the biggest reason is the writing. Almost everything else was A+ but the foundation wasn't really there and kind of weak to me.

I'm with you, I didn't love Soul as much as I wanted. The plot couldn't decide between 22 or Joe as its focus and the 'solution' the came up with was very frustrating imo. I won't knock its accolades, but it wasn't the staple that knocked against the western animation industry's issues that it thought it was
