shameless promotion~u_chaiApril 15 2021, 20:43:37 UTC
umm.. since he's always ignored here T__T I guess as his fan, I'll shamelessly promote it:
turn on the Captions to get a feel of what the song is about...
It's not often a kpop idol actually addresses his mental issues (and the bullying he suffered from antis) in an album. this song takes a few listen to get into it. it's also more cohesive when watched after his Paranoia MV

i loved Paranoia but this one i didn't like as much
Also makeup/wardrobe makes such a difference because i thought he looked attractive in the Paranoia video and here (and especially in some interviews) he looks younger lol
I mostly understand why ppl are split on Libido (altho seeing ppl who I know for a fact write fanfic complain about the gay scenes is certainly something) but I really love it lol it's right up my alley as I love almost anything horny, industrial and gothy. I love that it isn't trendy at all - no drop chorus, no trap break in the second verse etc. Just fresh.
Another solid album from Jisung, I really love him. He just seems like a great guy so it sucks that he is so much less successful than the other Wanna One soloists, especially since a lot of the hate he gets is homophobic. His vocal skills are really underrated too, he studied musical theater for years and it shows.
I would say Sungwoon is doing pretty well, his songs chart decently. No one is doing as well as Daniel of course. But Sungwoon's releases all charted in the top 5 with around 70-80k sales, Jisung barely manages 20k unfortunately.
i love how the residual effect of rollin' ended up getting we ride to chart quite high on the digital chart lmaooo (they've charted higher than some of our fave girl groups already rip)
the song came out last august, and was barely a blip on people's radar and now it's being semi promoted again??? like this entire brave girls thing has been so REWARDING as a fan of theirs since 2017!!!
We Ride doing so well is even more exciting than Rollin’ to me because Rollin’ is thriving a lot due to being a sexy song aimed at men, with how well it was perceived when performed to men in the army (which kpop moved quite away from its peak in the early to mid 2010s) and patriotic reasons, once again pride they were performing and cheering on the military men.
But because they have a strong narrative of the underdog pulling through which appeals to many people, We Ride also rose and this song’s appeal male gaze is much smaller. I love both songs but I feel so much more comfortable with We Ride’s styling and aesthetic as a woman. So I’m glad this song that is toned down is doing great, people really like the women themselves and not just because they’re doing body rolls on chairs to catchy music. It’s hard for me to describe but either way I’m so happy for We Ride!!
I listened to it when it came out and a day later I can’t tell you what it sounds like. It left that little of an impression for me 🤷 no desire to listen again.
I can def understand not liking it but I think you're the first person I've seen call it boring haha. A kpop song doing industrial is pretty uncommon, only other industrial kpop song I can think of is VIXX's Voodoo Doll.
