Dan Olsen, the creator of the YouTube Channel Folding Ideas, has recently put out a video on Doug Walker's review of Pink Floyd's The Wall. I don't follow the Nostalgia Critic anymore so I had no idea he had even reviewed The Wall, but after watching Dan Olsen's review of... Doug Walker's review, I decided to watch the original video as well. And ( Read more... )

I used to watch him too and stopped a few years ago. When FI shows clips of old NC reviews I just cringe now lol

One of his earliest videos was like "Top 11 Sexiest Animated Women" and most of them were technically teenagers (Disney Princesses and Sailor Moon included). Yikes.

This is such a common thing with male film/music/whatever critics on Youtube, I don't even bother reading reviews by men anymore. It's always some very obvious misogyny, or they just happen to always love silly shit made by men and hate anything women create.

I remember being like 12 and listening to this album in the car with my mom who told me a lot of this... the WWII London bombing references etc. and as a 12 year old, I got it. You have to be pretty dumb to put out a review of this album and miss the point so much. A simple reading of Wikipedia I imagine would have helped...

Anyways the only Nostalgia Critic video I ever watched was his review of the Matrix and I knew never to watch anything of his again because he’s an idiot

I still have never seen The Wall film all the way through, but I listen to the The Wall album straight through every few months. It’s such a game changer just listening to the album start to finish.

And that Doug man is a big ol clown. The last two-ish minutes of Comfortably Numb is my favorite part of of any song ever.

I just don't get how someone doesn't understand the point and vibe of Comfortably Numb. And FI even said that Doug got it right but completely on accident and in a way that paints him as really stupid.

Comfortably Numb is my go-to depression song.

The guitar solo in the middle and that outro...OMFG. I cry like a damn baby when I hear it.

This 'reviewer' is a douchebag and needs to be clubbed over the head and shoved into a tar pit.

Nostalgia Critic....that’s a name I haven’t heard in awhile. I tried to watch one of his older episodes recently and it’s amazing how they’ve all aged like milk.

I know nothing about The Wall, but I remember when Doug got his ass whooped by a lot of people for making that video, and was GLAD. I used to love watching The Nostalgia Critic (particularly when I was much younger), and other content creators on his website. But then that whole Change the Channel thing happened, and Doug Walker has YET to directly comment about it. He's just moved on like nothing happened, and he still has legions of loyal fanboys. It's sickening. He has an enormous ego and is amazingly dense about much of the content he reviews.
