I watched Another Round last week on Hulu and I loved it. nice to see a new movie that wasn't bleak and depressing. i did cry but the ending was so life-affirming, it really made my heart soar. definitely made me think a LOT about my own relationship to alcohol... i have never liked to drink beyond a cocktail with dinner and i felt like i missed out on a lot of formative experiences. but at the same time i've never had to struggle with addiction or the social, emotional, or physical consequences of drinking. it really is such a double edged sword.

I cried too but the ending lifted me up, it was essentially a movie about celebrating life.

The finale sequence of Madds dancing was so captivating. Great choreography and song choice.

You totally summed up my feelings about it! I’ve never been a huge drinker but I did drink lots of wine back when I first had a depressive episode. I’ve always been afraid of going back to that habit or having it get worse but it’s also been tough for me to refrain from drinking whenever the culture around having those formative experiences like you mentioned is all around us. Plus, I had the song at the end of the movie on repeat for days after lol

mortal kombat earlier today.
it was a lot of fun, fingers crossed i'm gonna catch it in imax too in a week and a half.

Watched Moffie last year and it is beautiful. I'll probably see Thunder Force and The Empty Man this weekend.

Can't wait to finally watch French Exit, the book was pretty fun.

I haven't seen many new things lately. I have Minari on my list still.

Recently I've watched Tammy and the T-Rex and Uninvited (1980s B "horror" movie) with my boyfriend. Tammy and the T-Rex was so ?????????????????????????????? lmao the early 90s were another time.

Uninvited was the exact kind of awful puppet special effects 80s spring break movie I was expecting it to be. It's about a cat that escapes a lab, and it's like...got a crazy demon monster cat inside of it that kills people. It's nuts.
