I just finished The Six of Crows duology and LOVED IT so I’ve been searching for another book to read. I’ve read the first 5 chapters of like, 10 books and couldn’t get into any of them (including A Court of Thorns and Roses)

I’m starting The Selection now so we’ll see.

Anyone have any high fantasy/romance recommendations for me?

I really loved The Cruel Prince because there were moments where I literally couldn't predict was going to happen. The author does a good job of turning a lot of tropes on their head. That being said, some people have an issue with the romance but having read all the books, I loved the romance and how it develops.

Also I read this book completely out of order, but Iron & Magic by Ilona Andrews is amazing. I don't even care that it ruined some stuff from the Kate Daniels series which comes before it. I loved literally every single second of it and I have to stop myself from re-reading it constantly.

The Cruel Prince was one of the books I started and stopped bc I couldn’t get into it. Maybe I’ll give it another try.

And I’ll have to check out Iron and Magic!

It took me very long to get into The Cruel Prince and I thought about quitting, but in the end it was worth it.

Can't help but feel that I jinxed this by bringing it up on Round Up lol

OP I say finish the first one. On its own it's fine imo. Nothing amazing but not terrible. And the sexual tension scenes are written well.

The reactions to this were....not kind, to say the least.

I'm not familiar with them tbh but it seems like the kind of drivel in the vein of Hush, Hush

I feel like Hush, Hush never took off though but these books people are HYPE about.
(I haven't read them as I would probably not like them, but I did read Hush, Hush as a teen and oh gosh, that book was so bad)
