There's just something so off-putting about someone with her amount of money asking the average person to donate.

I have a lot of issues with Gofundme in general though and I feel like it's almost been hijacked by people who don't actually need it.

There are plenty of worthy causes on there and I donate now and then, but it feels like so much money an energy goes into "mutual aid" when it should actually be going into demanding system change. Throughout the pandemic the rich just keep getting richer, while the poor shares their stimulus checks with each other. Really feels like an increasingly weak bandage.
