Newsom hasn't handled the pandemic perfectly and he's not my ideal governor. But the recall effort is clearly driven purely by disgruntled Republicans. It's obnoxious.
Also, apparently Biden is now supporting filibuster reform. So we might not get rid of it, but if we can reform it to force the people wanting to block legislation to actually have to hold the floor... idk. We might get some stuff done?

THIS. Criticism of Newsom is definitely warranted (ex. him flipping the vaccine rollout was especially shitty for the disabled community and only got fixed upon massive outrage that I happily contributed to), but the recall effort is so clearly being done in bad faith by people mad that we even had a lockdown to begin with that any criticism of him at this point is seen as being on the side of Trumpsters.
Michigan is doing the same thing. Some of our hospitals and places are letting people already sign up for when appointments become available. My workplace is actually having a clinic next week so I should be able to get my first dose then.
