It still makes them look like shit, but less shit than the more likely bigger issue: Abel openly called them out previously about their “urban” categories, forcing their hand to change them, and then had the audacity, as a black man, to declare AH pop (which, you know, it unabashedly is) and openly campaign the album as such instead of knowing his place and sticking to the categories where they prefer to keep black artists. The racist voters probably ended up splitting his vote in the genre field and refusing to vote for him in the general.

I wish more artists would just not submit their work like Frank did with Blond and Endless. He saw right through their shit. They get all these amazing Black artist to perform and then relegate them to the segregated categories and even if they're nominated in one of the bigger categories it's always the whites that take the trophy. I mean look how they played Mariah, Beyoncè, Kendrick and a lot of other musicians. Fuck the Grammys.
