A movie about the making of a movie? Is this actually juicy enough to warrant an entire movie or is this like a Wikipedia subsection that’s being glamorized
Yeah, of all the Coppola films, I've always heard way more about he making of Apocalypse Now rather than The Godfather.
One movie I always thought they should make a movie about is the making of A Walk on the Wild Side. I remember reading about it on TCM's website after watching it, and it was a hot mess. SAG made a rule about agents being able to produce while still representing actors because the producer filled it with his clients even if they didn't fit the roles at all.
For example:
Feldman cast 35-year-old Englishman Laurence Harvey as a Southern farm boy, French model Capucine as his lost love turned prostitute (what part of the farm did she grow up on?), and American actress Anne Baxter as a Mexican cantina owner. It didn't hurt that Harvey was involved in an affair with Harry Cohn's widow, Joan, who owned Columbia Pictures, which backed the film. And Capucine was Feldman's protégée and frequent date (she would deny ever having an affair with him). Here's the TCM article with lots of other messy details too long to

kinda weird to make a movie about a movie that's so well-known but i guess it's not a bad idea? still yikes at this age difference, but sadly not surprised

I’m tired. The leading men stay the same but the actresses are constantly swapped out for younger ones.

Sigh ... there was a 9 year age gap between Ali McGraw and Robert Evans. She was 30 when they married.
There’s an 18 year age gap (double what existed IRL!!) between Elle Fanning and Jake Gyllenhaal. Fanning is 22.
Will Hollywood ever just cast women who are the right age? https://t.co/kzNITa9KS8
