People are so obsessed with her weight because she dare be happy with herself.

THIS. When fat people are happy with their bodies, people who work really hard to stay thin feel personally attacked. Like, I'm sorry some people are at war with their bodies, but it's awful to take those feelings out on other people.

There is nothing quite as threatening as a fat woman who loves herself.

Fat people are not supposed to be happy. We are supposed to be the worst state of being possible, and miserable. And if it turns out we can just be fine with ourselves then all that time and sense of self-worth people invested in the lie that their lives would be better (or are better) if they’re slim was bullshit. And they’re not ready to deal with that

What a rude thing to ask someone, I'm glad she responded like this.

Waiting for people to give her shit for her answer(cuz you know it’s coming) but it’s a fucking absurd question-and it was treated as such.

just let fat people live their own fucking lives. so tired of thin people hand-wringing and raging over fat people existing comfortably and happily. like sorry so many people revolve their lives around being thin and making themselves miserable to be thin that it makes them feel some kind of way that others can live rich and fulfilling lives while fat. so many skinny people are against fat acceptance because it renders their self-imposed 'hard work' to be thin worthless.

Not to mention I can vouch personally for how easy it is to get fat bc something major (or like 5 major things consecutively lolz) happened. Every single one of us is only an accident and the subsequent depression that follows from a likely large amount of weight gain and ppl don’t want to accept that. Not to mention fat people literally exist outside of the constraints of binge eating. Some people have been fat their entire lives but are healthy as fuck. My bf’s son is built like a truck, he’s a chubby boi, but he goes to the gym, rock climbs, snowboards, and is an EMT. Does that sound unhealthy?!?! Dude is far fitter than I am and I’ve lost 100 lbs ( ... )

YUP.

Like, I don't have anyone depending on me (a partner or kids). Other than my weight, I am in great health. I don't drink, I don't smoke, I don't engage in risky sexual practices, my immune system is phenomenal, etc... the only way my fatness affects other people (I'm considered "morbidly obese" but that's mostly bc of my height, I only take up one seat on the bus/train/plane and can still buy some of my clothes in "straight size" stores) is if I'm eating their food or sitting on them. My life isn't rich or fulfilling, but that's more because I'm broke and socially awkward, not because of my body.
