Oh this will fascinating to watch, I’ve been listening to the podcast Spectacle about the history of some of these reality TV shows and they showcase The Real World for one episode and it’s really wild given how producer driven it was. Talks of one of the cast members being gay, some racist hick from bumfuck wherever seeing Black people for the “first time” with all types of shenanigans.

Many years ago, my friend with a bike knew someone who dated a Real World producer. They said that the cast of the original season got along really well - too well for the producers, in fact, so they staged that fight between Julie and Kevin where they were standing outside of their building. At the time that they told me this, I was shocked that a reality show would do something like that. Now I expect it!

Remember the Vegas season and they had to have a whole house meeting to decide if one of the girls was going to get kicked out because she threw a fork? Oh how times have changed with reality TV

Vegas was kind of a goddamn mess lol I think that was the season where RW transitioned from being about the hardships in young ppls lives to being about their messy partying habits
