Do they talk about the kids being fake in the first episode? Like, is it an issue that their child (that they spent an inordinate amount of time on in the crossover) was disappeared from the universe and now they're pretending that the twins are not made up? Or did Oliver just place Lois and Clark over top of a different Lois and Clark, getting rid of them and creating new ones?
Their history was literally changed so technically there is no "fake" twins. They went from getting married in their 30s and having a child in their mid/late 30s to getting married in their young 20s and having twins by their mid 20s. Only a select group of people have memories from Pre-COIE (which doesnt even make sense but...yeah)
Even Clarks origin got changed. Supergirl origin to his new origin...he was already born and a baby Pre-COIE and now he seems to have been born once he landed on Earth, with the pod as a kind of incubator. I wonder if they'll even address the change should they have Kara talk about her baby cousin once Supergirl returns.
That's one of my issues. Children in the Arrowverse are not people, they're completely interchangeable. It's so the opposite of what Clark is supposed to be. Just...how can he not be desperate to get his child that was winked out of existence back???
It's depressingly sexist that the second The CW got Supergirl on their network they immediately forced Superman into it as often as possible, then as soon as they got their Superman show greenlit, they erase everything and start new so all that time spent on him during Supergirl was a sexist waste of time solely focused on getting the man his own show without regards for the show with a female lead that was actually airing.
How can he try to get a child back that he doesnt remember? That was practically born 13 years earlier?
As far as forcing Superman into Supergirl...gotta disagree. If you have Supergirl...Supes is gonna show up and he only made like 7 appearances between S2-5/70 episodes. The writers made sure that kara was superior, she was the one who helped inspire the Legion of Superheroes. He was much more her supporting character.
It's funny because when he's Superman I feel like he's too Bruce Wayne-looking to look like Supes. But then when he's Clark with the glasses I think he looks cute and a little dorky like Clark is supposed to.
