ALL OF RESTLESS. worst episode ever (ok not really but kinda) but just so full of foreshadowing.

Buffy: "Can't wait til Mom gets the bill for these books. I hope it's a funny aneurism." -S4E01

every time i do a re-watch, this gets me all upset.

requisite FUCK THEM ALL FOR THROWING HER OUT OF HER OWN HOUSE. fuck all of them.

ok. so. this is possibly the first time i've learned something new about buffy?
Buffy: "It's so late..."
Tara: "Oh, that clock's completely wrong..." -S4E22
(This was one year later, so it would've been closer to 365, not 730)I NEVER PUT THAT TOGETHER. i also never went on the boards or watched buffy with anyone else or EVER got involved in the fandom, so whatever i know, i figured out alone. this one was like, math, so. nope. LOL ( ... )

I always thought Dawn looks more related to Faith than she does Buffy and technically at that point Faith is the "active" slayer

she does! and (imo) when they do interact, faith does seem sisterly.

That is so interesting... I wish they did more with Faith being the actual active slayer. Buffy didn't need to lose her powers or anything, but Faith being the Buffy's replacement should've impacted the plotlines more than it did. She had terrible watchers but it never sat right with me that she was relegated to Buffy's backup when she should've been the main.

They both could've gotten what they wanted. Buffy could've slayed part-time ("If the apocalypse comes, beep me") and had her own adventures into normalcy and maybe travel but became a demon magnet because of her legacy (she did kill the Master and the Mayor) and Faith should've gotten a spin off being tied to Sunnydale.

I've watched this show so many times and I've only just got that in Anne when Giles mentions a girl fighting vampires in Oakland it's probably Faith on her way to Sunnydale lol

In the same episode that Xander is a pirate, Anya is an angel foreshadowing her death.

In Tabula Rasa, the groups that people wake up in at the end are also the groups they're in at the end of Grave. Buffy and Dawn together, Xander and Willow and Giles and Anya. Tara and Spike both woke up alone and in Grave Tara is dead and Spike has been re-souled.

Great post, OP!

I love that! <3
The other thing someone pointed out on the various boards I have seen over the years is that in Restless, Giles treated Spike like his son and was training him to be a watcher/etc. and then in Tabula Rasa, he was wearing a similar (if not identical) suit to Restless, and they woke up and were "Father and Son" again.

one of my favorite things i read was that they toyed with the idea of making xander be the 'ben' figure in s5 which would have been so fucking cool and actually given a point to xander beyond being annoying lol

also icr if this was just a theory, but another cool thing was that dracula never actually was there and he was just a collective 'memory' that the monks put on for the scoobies while they created dawn and inserted her into their lives - and that dracula biting buffy was really the monks taking a bit of her blood to create dawn with

My mind was just literally BLOWN.
DRACULA NOT BEING A REAL THING.
THE MONKS STEALING HER BLOOD.
THIS ALL MAKES SENSE. ESPECIALLY BECAUSE HE JUST DISAPPEARED AND IT WAS LIKE IT NEVER HAPPENED.
OMG.
And the CASTLE just appearing and suddenly it's gone?! Omg.
You have just given me such serious shock. Hahahaha
