Yes at number 1! The Gentleman are so freaky. The physicality that Doug Jones and the other actors brought to their roles (and the work of the make up department) really made the episode work. If they had been hokey, the episode would have fallen apart.
They really are. Hush is also such a great episode and didn't feel gimmicky.
Once More With Feeling was also really good and I feel like so many shows now do a musical episode and I just don't like them - but Buffy made it work.
Agreed. I think Grey's did an OK "sort of musical" when Callie was injured and hallucinating everyone singing, but other than that, I don't think of any other shows that did it super well.
<3 Agreed. Ted was gross. When she beat his ass I was like "YES QUEEN." My Mom and Dad separated for a while when I was 8-9 and my Mom dated a guy named Ron who was SO MUCH like Ted. Not a perfect guy who cooked a lot, but he definitely had the same personality of trying to insert himself in our lives and actually told me to call him Dad. When I told him I wouldn't because I have a Dad, and sassed him, he slapped me. My Mom (luckily) wasn't brainwashed, so she dumped him. lol. But I just love any episode that paints Buffy as potentially crazy but she ends up getting to say "I told you so" to everyone. lol
I loved the episode but idk, I guess there was a part of me that felt like she was just an annoying bully for me. I might also be having some countertransference going on here, because she DEFINITELY reminds me of a girl who tormented me through a lot of middle/high school. lol
