While I will always be honored to have played the character of Spike, the Buffy set was not without challenges. I do not support abuse of any kind, and am heartbroken to learn of the experiences of some of the cast. I send my love and support to all involved.

February 12, 2021 • James Marsters comes out in support without naming names.
• Nicholas Brendan said on Facebook Live that he believes and supports Charisma 100% and will elaborate more when he's feeling better (he's apparently suffered a back injury).
• David Boreanaz has wiped out his Instagram, while his wife has deleted hers.
* Boreanaz and Alyson Hannigan are posting on Instagram stories but not addressing the scandal.
I would like to validate what the women of Buffy are saying
and support them in telling their story. They deserve to be heard.
I understand where
@AllCharisma, Amber, Michelle and all
the women who have spoken out are coming from.

February 12, 2021 This took courage. I’m really proud of you and stand by you. Everyone does.

February 11, 2021 "Casually cruel" is a perfect way of describing Joss. He thought being mean was funny. Making female writers cry during a notes session was especially hysterical. He actually liked to boast about the time he made one writer cry twice in one meeting.

February 13, 2021 Just to say it - a lot of folks gave Ray Fisher hell and questioned him at every step all because you liked this man’s TV shows and movies.

February 10, 2021 As I said on our call, many people are watching how my truth statement is received. When they see a positive, loving embrace from ppl like you, it creates space for their own stories to be heard. Thank you. Plz know I am inspired by you for speaking your heart too. Love you. 🌈

February 12, 2021 In addition to responding to J August Richards, she also responded to Eliza Dushku on
Instagram:
"I owe you an apology. I never lent my voice to you privately nor publicly when you shared your truth after suffering sexual misconduct in the workplace. As I wrote to you privately, this makes your statement of support sweeter. And as I said to J, your loving embrace empowers others to feel safe to share their stories. Thank you for being who you are. Thank you for your inspiring words of support. I will never forget how you have made me feel. 💖"
How many WGA meetings have I sat in that discuss holding showrunners accountable for bad behavior? But today, I see only actresses speaking up about Joss Whedon. Fellas, no one saw anything?

February 11, 2021 Charisma Carpenter’s Joss Whedon story is part of a larger reevaluation of Whedon’s legacy.

February 11, 2021 p.p.s. I met Joss once when I interviewed to be a writer on Buffy. I was pregnant at the time. First thing he said to me: "Boy, are you fat." I laughed because it was an interview. But when I read
@AllCharisma's post, I realized it was a pattern. And I didn't get the job.

February 12, 2021 If cancel culture is real, why do we have to cancel Joss Whedon every year?

February 11, 2021 This support is wonderful but y'all gotta give her and Ray Fisher work...
