- Vagisil is attempting to capitalize on young people by preying on their insecurities about what's "normal" by releasing a line marketed toward teens called "OMV!" (🙄)
- They say they're "normalizing period talk" while using terms like "period funk" and "staying fresh" and trying to convince young people they need to douse their vulvas in creamsicle-scented washes, wipes , and "confetti"? (Meanwhile, fragrances are a leading cause of vaginal and vulvar irritation)
- Mama Doctor Jones and her ObGyn colleagues are not having it. Her comment on their Instagram post was deleted, and then comments were turned off.
Some quotes:
"Your vulva doesn't need a glow up"
"If you have a bothersome smell, you need to talk to your doctor, not mask it in creamsicle scented stuff"
"They are inherently solidifying the idea that periods are somehow dirty"
"What is an external vagina?? That's not a thing."
https://instagram.com/p/CK7IzcuhO0f Vagisil responded to recent criticism by dismissing it as "chatter". They insist they are addressing teens' concerns about odour, etc., without acknowledging the fact that the correct way to address those concerns would be by teaching them that their bodies are normal, not selling them creamsicle-scented vagina perfume. Also, "gynecologist-tested" is meaningless.

12ONTD'ers with vulvas, did the patriarchy convince you your normal bodily functions are "dirty" and did you ever recover?
