Feb 01, 2021 07:30

It's another February and that means OP is back with her series of Negroriginals to celebrate Black History Month Year. And since 2021 is really gearing up to be the gawddamn sequel of 2020, OP decided to start the month off with a simple Black Joy post. It's simply a complication of throwback, aunties at the cookout jams basically songs during the Soul Train era.

So if you get a moment to relax or need a dance break, put on your parent's polyester clubbing outfit and use ya hot comb as a microphone and sing or lip-sync your heart out. OP tried to keep it to 50 songs as a starting point, feel free to share in the comments and they will be added. Only see if you can recognize some songs that have been sampled in prominent songs of the 90s and the 2000s.

No, Bobby Caldwell (vintage Jon B) CANNOT make an appearance on this playlist, ask me around February 27th.

Source and my ancestors' impeccable taste. Well, I hope this playlist puts a smile on your face. ✊🏾
