I want to watch Haymaker even though the trailer isn't that good.

I finally watched Malcolm X and it’s incredible. Which feels very obvious to say but I was still blown away by the film and Denzel’s performance. It is literally insane that he did not win an Oscar for that. I also spent a few very stupid seconds at the end wondering why that man looked so much like Nelson Mandela before realizing...that was just Nelson Mandela.

The ohana one looks like Disney TV material, but if there's enough shots of Hawaii I'll skip through it.

I watched Pieces of a Woman and can we maybe next time have the rough, simple male not be played but someone who is an abuser, because that really made some scenes extra uncomfortable.

He's basically played himself before (American Honey, for one), but whew, this one was especially uncomfortable. [Spoiler (click to open)]But ultimately he's barely important to the story/her journey, so I liked that.

Looking forward to The Dig, slightly looking forward to The Little Things. And we just discussed Little Fires Everywhere in my book club this week, so idk if I have the mental energy for True Mothers, lord.

And yay, Saint Maud is finally coming out!! I've been waiting and waiting! Apparently it's on VOD on 2/12. ❤
