nope, you know your parent is dating but introducing the person forms a subconscious "replacement parent" connection. and every time the relationship doesn't work out, you feel some level of abandonment (esp if you were actually abandoned by your other parent) and then resentment against the original parent for introducing them in the first place.

and that's if the person is actually nice lmao. if they're an asshole or you don't like them for whatever reason it's even worse.

I think you're giving him too much credit. He didn't know she wasn't ready to settle down, and it's not even about that. That's a fake excuse because he travels when he feels like it. He made a film in Ireland last year and the one before that was in New Orleans. So he can go off for two or three months and not consider the kids when he wants to.

That may be the excuse she gave him, but I don't think it was the real reason. Now he's trying to sound like a good dad, but it seems more like something his PR team came up with to me.
