This show means so much to me, it hit at just the right time growing up. The coming out stuff especially was so important, both Buffy's metaphorical and Willow's actual, even before I really knew why.

I would add to this list Buffy's Season 6 journey dealing with depression. I know a lot of people didn't like certain aspects or how dark it got, but it had some really powerful moments for me and I appreciate the risk of letting the main character really experience that long, hard journey rather than having her death and resurrection be resolved in an episode or two.

I loved the storyline of season 6 with her resurrection, tbh. I don't get the hate. Sure, it's dark. But she literally tells us why she's so down...and she really hadn't had enough time to grieve her Mom...there are so, so many reasons she has to be depressed.
Plus, her friends being so shitty. "We're gonna live in this house, in your Moms room, but we aren't paying any bills. Go flip burgers while we hang out at home! Also, we ripped you out of heaven because we missed you saving our lives all the time."

ugh, pissing me off on buffy's behalf all over again. fuck her shitty friends jfc

omg Buffy (BUFFY, who had enough responsibilities and demands on her time already!!) having to get that terrible fast food job while Willow just swanned around rent free in Buffy's damn house made me so freaking angry.

A lot about Willow made me angry in the later seasons, tbh. Buffy and Tara deserved so much better in a friend/girlfriend.
