ONTD Original: 6 Songs from TV/Film I Want on Streaming RIGHT NOW

Jan 16, 2021 16:58

The other day, we were talking about Buffy as many of us do here perhaps way too often. And I realized that I really love the version of "Goodbye to You" that Michelle Branch does on one episode. Why isn't it on streaming services?

Hear me out. Because TV is so finnicky, it was likely recorded and mixed in full. I doubt it was live. And she was ( Read more... )

Instant Star has entered the chat.

Seriously, there are so many songs that Jude/Alexz sings that either 1) made it onto the soundtrack but ended up being sung by another singer, 2) are on the soundtrack but not available for streaming in the US, 3) never ended up being recorded/released.

For example, I'd pay big money to hear the rock version of "There's Us" and the acoustic version of "Anyone But You"

Right? It makes no sense. Idk why they couldn’t release the Alexz versions. Is anyone really going to listen to Luke McMaster sing Ultraviolet?? No

There were so many great songs written for The Moodys (the Australian show; apparently there was an American version made smh) that are impossible to get. There's no soundtrack album, no streaming, they're not even on youtube and I want them.

I swear yea the US did have a version but I remember it being a parody? On The Amanda Show?

I think we're thinking of different things? The Moodys came out in the 2010s and Amanda was way before that. The US remake was an actual series staring Denis Leary, according to Youtube videos I didn't click on while searching for clips of the songs I liked.

This is the original Aus show:

Moodys Point! It was a parody of Dawson’s Creek

I think I have this Michelle Branch version. It was likely recorded from the show.

I downloaded that version of Goodbye to You from Limewire after being so bummed that it wasn’t the version on her album

I've had a lot of downloaded songs over the years with bits of tv show dialogue in them because that's the only way I can get the song, and while I don't mind having to listen that way, it's always weirdly mortifying when I'm driving with someone or w/e with music playing and tv dialogue comes over the speakers.
