This is one of my all-time guilty pleasure faves, along with Center Stage! I also loved the soundtrack for this movie. I think I still have it on CD packed away somewhere.

I remember watching this and thinking Kerri Washington was so beautiful. It wasn’t until a few years back that I realized it was actually Kerry Washington though.
Looking back the early 00’s had a lot of good movies in teen cinema. It was still a good time to be a teenager. We had the perfect balance of access to internet and information without having to constantly be available 24/7 via text and dm’s.

The mid-90s was the hey day for kids sports movies, and the late 90s was the hey day for the teen movie.

Now I just feel sorry for the kids growing up today.
